Kiwis
Originally known as the Chinese Gooseberry, the kiwifruit has become a modern staple in the fruit market. The first kiwi was brought to New Zealand from China in 1904. By 1924, the popular Hayward variety was cultivated by Hayward Wright. Following similar climates, the cultivation of kiwi expanded to California, Italy, and Chile for year-round availability.
With twice the Vitamin C of an orange, and as much potassium as a banana, the kiwifruit is regarded as an extremely healthy addition to any diet. The kiwifruit has been endorsed by many dieticians and health professionals, most recently by Dr. Oz here: http://www.doctoroz.com/videos/kiwi-energy-boosting-fruit
